Katy Deepwell impartirá la conferencia inaugural, enfocada en los manifiestos de arte feminista. Recientemente editó y escribió la introducción del libro 50 Feminist Art Manifestos (KT Press, 2022), una antología de textos originales de 50 mujeres artistas/grupos feministas/protestas feministas. La cuestión que abordará es qué tienen que decirnos estos 50 manifiestos producidos durante un periodo de 50 años sobre feminismos, arte y las conexiones entre ellos.
Katy Deepwell es profesora de Arte Contemporáneo, Teoría y Crítica en la Universidad de Middlesex, Londres, y se especializa en la crítica de arte feminista y en la teoría sobre mujeres artistas contemporáneas. Es fundadora de KT press y editora de n.paradoxa: revista internacional de arte feminista.

Katy Deepwell will deliver the opening talk at the conference, focused on feminist art manifestos. She recently edited and wrote the introduction of the book 50 Feminist Art Manifestos (KT Press, 2022), an anthology of original texts by 50 women artists/feminist groups/feminist protests. The question she will address is what do these 50 manifestos produced over a 50 year period have to tell us about feminisms, art and the connections between them.
Katy Deepwell is a Professor of Contemporary Art, Theory and Criticism at Middlesex University, London, and specialises in feminist art criticism and theory about contemporary women artists. She is the founder of KT press and editor of n.paradoxa: international feminist art journal.
